Ottawa lawyer Yoav Niv continues working on the case of two Ontario women detained in Syria, and has successfully gotten his client out on bail.
Two Ontario women who were repatriated from Syria have been granted bail. The two women are facing terrorism charges related to their alleged involvement with ISIS. One of the women has been released on $50,000 bail, while the other remains in custody pending a review of her bail conditions. The women, who are both from the Toronto area, were arrested in 2019 after returning to Canada from Syria with their young children. They are set to appear in court next in June.
